October #jammed: Free Grace.
Day 281: More than we deserve.
“That’s not fair.”
“That’s NO fair.”
“How did she get to-“ stomp off…
“I wasn’t allowed to do that!!”
In the everyday reality of life with two sisters, this kind of accusatory talk is inevitable. Sometimes they are right. It’s not fair.
Today’s verse prompts us to apply wisdom to all situations. If we lack wisdom …we are prompted to ask God for it. God isn’t in the business of “no fair.” He is the epitome of fair, so there’s no debating His wise answer.
Wisdom enables one to face trials with “pure joy”. Wisdom is not just acquired information but practical insight with spiritual implications. NIV Study Bible Notes
Godly wisdom is not an immediate answer, nor is it a swift action to put us out of our misery or in victorious standing. Wisdom, by it’s very nature, takes time to accumulate. God will not be rushed. His timing is perfect, even when His answers confuse us.
Waiting on God’s wisdom is always the answer. A love as large as the cross will help us out of the everyday conundrums of life when we seek, pray, follow, listen for His wisdom. It will come. In time.
Father, Praise You for Your wisdom. Thank You for answering our prayers for it when we cannot find the right way to act within our own knowledge. Forgive us for the times we act out of line and outside of our better judgement and Your wisdom on account of our impatience and lack of discipline and obedience. Help us to seek You in Your Word and through prayer each day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
