Meet Meg

November #jammed: Gracious.

Day 334: Thankful for Truth.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope. Romans 15:4

The smell of hot polyester seats with duck tape covering rips and holes wafted past as I 334flipped to the next page. Ears ringing to Jock Jams and mind whirring with anxiety, my eyes took in pictures of gold medalists and inspiring running shoe ads. All reminding me that the impossible is possible. Encouraging me to fight through the pain that would meet me on the track. As the lanes came into view and the bus squealed into it’s spot, I put the heavy binder back into my bag and walked out to warm-up.

We do a lot of mental warming up in life. Before sporting events, big interviews, important conversations and big moves. We repeat to ourselves what we hope to do and visualize what we want to happen.

But it doesn’t always turn out the way we want or look the way we think it should.

Without connecting our motivations to God’s Word on a daily basis, we are robbing ourselves of a key piece of strength. Strength we need to finish strong, close the deal, get the words out, or take that first step of change. The Living Word always applies to our lives. It’s relevant to what we’re going through, if we’ll seek to meet Him there.

As believers in Christ we have God’s Spirit in us, and it’s more powerful than any mental tactic we can conjure up …so why do we so often leave Him out of our important decisions and big moments? When seeking to achieve the impossible, it helps to have Truth ringing in our ears and whirring through our minds..

The more we read God’s Word, the more we understand what He’s trying to say to us. The more we seek Him in the early hours of the morning, the more prepared we are for each day. We are His, and we cannot operate within His will without His translation on our lives.

His opinion that matters the most. It’s what He says we’re capable of that we can wholeheartedly expect to happen. The Bible has the ability to motivate us and move our lives forward …all the way home to Him.

jammed-click-to-tweetFather, Praise You for Your Living Word. Thank You for meeting us in the pages of the Bible, and speaking life in to our lives. Forgive us for seeking other ways of inspiration, and help us to seek You always and each day.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
