It all started with Sunny&80, a blog I began with a nap time blogpost in 2011. I have shared the dearest and most tender places of my heart over the last decade, journeying through motherhood, marriage, life, friendship, ministry, love, and the pursuit of something bigger than this world: Jesus. One obedient step to start a blog led to freelance writing, leading and teaching Bible study, and writing four books!! Along the way, I’ve learned a lot about joy.
I've been there, on the floor crying, so overwhelmed and feeling so isolated. Not knowing what to say to God or how connect with others. That's why I'm here, to make sure you don't stay stuck there.
The joy in my life is Jesus. Each season, He's pulled me in closer to Him, and taught me how to embrace life the way it was designed to be lived. I doodled don’t worry …be happy through my years at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, located in the breathtaking Cuyahoga River Valley in a suburb South of Cleveland, OH. I knew then, joy was on the horizon. I just didn't know what came next.
A scholarship to run Cross Country and Track sent me flying like an eagle off to Ashland University, where 'Be joyful always' (1 Thessalonians 5:16) became my life verse. It was also there I officially handed my life over to Christ ...in exchange for ...you guessed it ...joy.
With a degree in Business Administration, concentrated in Marketing and Communications, I set out on a journey which would eventually lead me back home to writing. God will always help us discover the unique thing in us which brings us joyl
My husband, Jim, and I married in 2007 on Mackinac Island, in Michigan. Our daughter, Brianne Marie, was born in 2008; and Lauren Colleen in 2010. And being a mom has brought me the most joy. We live in Sandusky, Ohio, are Lake Erie boaters, Cleveland Browns fans, and have a crazy golden-doodle doggo named Cherry.
My first blog, Sunny&80, led to my first freelance writing job ...in 2016. There, I met the most amazing team of editors, who pushed and encouraged me as I grew as a writer. Over the years, I have published 5 books and a Bible study, wiith so many more in the works. In 2023, I had the honor of joining their ranks, and their team , as an editor, myself, for Salem Web Network! Now I get to encourage other writers!!
“Those who plant
in tears will harvest
with shouts of joy.”
-Psalm 126:5 NLT
God’s hand has been upon all of this, layering His love into the different seasons of my life, bringing me to better understanding of what it means to be joyful .and joy-filled.
Life within the love of Christ Jesus means our joy never fades, whether we are walking through happy and healthy seasons, or sad and sick seasons. Joy is powerful, and transformative.

"Meg is a gifted writer and faithful follower of Christ."
"She gives so many biblical examples and verses that help us learn how to be good friends and reminds how much God cares about friendship and has a hand in ours. Such a reminder to seek the Lord first, to pray for new and current friendships, and to trust Him in all of our relationships, knowing he has placed people in our lives for a reason." - Katy K.
"Meg has written a book on a topic that is near and dear to so many hearts-"our friendships. "
