Friends in Our 40’s: 10 Ways to Move from Hurt to Joy

The world’s unfairness isn’t just a fleeting feeling, it’s a fact of life on this sin-cursed earth being magnified. There is real evil in the world, intended upon stealing, killing, and destroying us. Our enemy lies. When we feel we are surrounded by unfairness and evil, lies and manipulation …it’s because we are. Life is like that, at times. Unfair and uncomfortable. We count on certain things to go a certain way. For my tween daughters, every emotion, discomfort, and awkward situation rains down upon them as though they’ve been caught unexpectedly in a torrential downpour. They don’t need us to throw a rain poncho over their every problem. Tweens need to know it’s a normal human to get caught in the rain sometimes.
