Hi! I'm Meg! It's great to meet you! Let's unlock the joy to found in everyday life, together!

Meet Meg

March #jammed: Grace Revealed.

Day 65: Friends everywhere.

Someone with many so-called friends may end up friendless,
but a true friend is closer than a brother.” Proverbs 18:24post-image-64

Being a blogger is a dream come true for me. There are friends to be made …everywhere. And link-ups are my favorite. A link-up is a group of bloggers that get together on a specific day to share what they wrote and read what others have written. It’s my favorite. Friends are my favorite.

I want to be friends with everyone. Today’s verse makes that sound like it’s not such a good idea.

It cautions us to choose friends carefully, but I don’t like to do that. I like to root for the person who seems like a bad influence because I believe in all of my heart that they have the potential to be a really good influence! And, who am I to judge anyway? I’m my own mess.

“If your heart and your mind are aligned in the direction of God, you don’t have to agonize to the point of paralysis over the decisions before you. We will steer where we stare.” Lysa Terkeurst, The Best Yes.

It’s OK to be friends with everyone, as long as we’re open to defining friendship on a person to person basis. One friendship doesn’t have to look like all others. Some friends talk everyday. Others see each other once a month. Still others get together sporadically but never lose ground. Our friendships are as individual as our walks with God. Each relationship is uniquely different because each person is uniquely crafted by God. No one combination of two people will ever operate the same as another.

So, as long as we’re genuine in the pursuit of friendship, we can embrace them all. And as for bad influences …it takes one to know one …so know what God says. Walk like Jesus walked. Follow Him alone.

jammed-tweet-blueFather, Praise You for friends! Thank You for commraderie and company in this life. We confess putting labels and confines how friendships should be and work, and pray that You bless our lives with the freedom to befriend the way Jesus did. Perfectly. In Jesus Name, Amen.
