November #jammed: Gracious.
Day 327: Thankful for my view.
Have you forgotten Me, the One who made you and the whole world,
who stretched out the skies and made sure the earth’s foundations?
Yet you constantly worry about others—how they hate and might harm you.
But their anger counts for nothing. Isaiah 51:3
Quiet mornings cuddled up to my little girls on our front porch swing, listening to the lake waves roll onto shore, and our dog chasing the birds and the squirrels out for breakfast …
Those are the slow summer mornings that heal the surge of my mind to wander and worry. In those moments, just holding those children …looking around …and listening to the soundtrack of my life …reminds me of my blessings.
Simple and silent routines have the power to renew and strengthen us.
Today’s verse reminds us to put life, and all of our worry over what people think of us and who we are to them, on pause. God made us all unique, but we all share the fallen sinful nature of all humanity. Fractured relationships and discord occur on account of it.
God says …“Have you forgotten Me?”
The One that spoke everything into existence can handle the weight of our worry. He sent Jesus to us, to show us how to get through this life. When we walk with Christ, we get moments to swing and to see that He holds us firmly.
Father, Praise You for allowing us to see the blessings in our lives, and help us to fully appreciate all that You have done for us. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
