Hi! I'm Meg! It's great to meet you! Let's unlock the joy to found in everyday life, together!

Meet Meg

March #jammed: Grace Revealed.

Day 71: Grace has names(s).

In the beginning, God created everything: the heavens above and the earth below.” Genesis 1:1post-image-71

Today’s verse signifies the start. Of creation, of the Bible, of our knowledge about who God is. Prayer-life changes when we get to know the heart of our Father, and through the words of a fellow Christ follower, mine was forever changed. I’d like to share a little of what I learned with you here today.

The English language may have simplified all of God’s names into one, but that cannot deter us from discovering His personality traits one by one. Knowing what I know about God, I imagine Him sweetly burying these treasures and delighting each time one of His children discover a golden nugget of truth.

“Though the exact meaning of Elohim is not known, the name itself incorporates the idea of strength and power and speaks to the supremacy of God as He reveals Himself through His creation.” -Wendy Blight, I Know His Name.

In a sense, God, as we say it in the English language, is akin to an authors pen name. We relate so much more to His Word as we unearth who He is. Since reading this book, I often pray, “Elohim, stretch my minutes,” as I attempt an impossible traffic jam or workload. The acknowledgment that He perfectly created and orchestrates time comforts my lack of control.

Jehovah Rapha, The One Who Heals Me …El Roi, The One Who sees me …Jehovah Nissi, the One who stands guard over me …Jehovah Shalom …the Lord is peace…

On and on and on …twenty-five different names of God, uncovered in Wendy’s book.

To connect with our Author, we must seek Him in His Word. The Friend and Father that knows the number of our days, is waiting to strike up a conversation. Just like learning to relate to the unique fabric of a friend, our relationship with God becomes more personal when we pray to exactly who He is privy to our timely need. It’s the gift Jesus died to give us …grace to come to the Father.

jammed-tweet-blueFather, Praise You for Your complex personality! Thank You that it takes a lifetime and more to discover each layer of love that You are. We confess our lack of time in Your Word, and pray that You bless and stretch our minutes to discover as much about You as we can while we walk this earth. Thank You for writers and scholars like Wendy Blight, who are faithful to write discoveries down, so that our prayer lives and relationships with You will be forever enriched. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
