March #jammed: Grace Revealed.

Day 78: Overloaded.

Point your kids in the right direction—
    when they’re old they won’t be lost.”Proverbs 22:6

There are days I see little floaty things wafting in and out of my conscious line of sight. post-image-78Iridescent wanderers, peacefully traveling through my mind’s eye. My fingertips are somehow still cold, though the heat is up and the dark brew has been refilled twice.

Tiny muscles are race to keep up with the big one spewing vocabulary. I forget to eat lunch, and only leave this seat to pee and pick up my kids from school …after pondering having someone else do it. Minutes slip past hours as I cram as much into my writing day as i possibly can …before I switch over to the other part of my life that is crammed to the top …motherhood.

“Parents have the responsibility of not simply overseeing the growth and development of their girls (and boys) but of raising them purposely-building into them certain qualities and traits of character.”Dr. James Dobson, Bringing Up Girls

Today’s verse reminds parents of the important place we have in our children’s lives. No matter how passionate we are about our work and our hobbies, parenthood is the real dream job.

They say that the mark of a great career is that it doesn’t feel like work. It can’t feel like work if it feels too much like privilege. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to steer your little minds’ minds. Feed them good spiritual food so that when they grow up, they too, know how to hop on the highway to their dreams.

“Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.” John 14:6

Merge on.

jammed-tweet-blueFather, Praise You for parenthood! Thank You for the joys our children bring us! We confess that we are often sidetracked and annoyed because they are interrupting our work. Remind us that they are our work. And we are privileged and blessed to get to do it everyday. Time is fleeting. Bless our minutes with our children. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
