January #jammed : Grace in Life’s Face

Day 30 Snuggling Up with Grace

“We have cause to celebrate because the grace of God has appeared, offering the gift of salvation to all people.” Titus 2:11

No one celebrates a day off school like my six-year old, Lo. And winter break?

“Wait …how many days are we off of school in a row?” she asked.

The number I retorted was beyond her imagination, and she sprung up the stairs and flew into her room.

“Foomf.”

A huge unicorn landed at the bottom of the foyer.

“Foomf.”

Another blur of purple and pink bounced off the first one.

And one by one, she tossed them all down …spread out a giant blanket, and claimed her spot. As the days when on, she was soon surrounded by every Christmas present …which included another new unicorn.

When we first accept Christ, we begin collecting things we love about Jesus. It’s all so exciting at first, like this burst of jubilant freedom. As the days go by, we get more and more comfortable walking with Him. He becomes our friend …our comfort …our life. Grace is a gift that continues to shower us with hope, and surround us like a bunch of snugly stuffed unicorns.

Father, Praise You, for You are powerful to comfort us amid the blur of life. You pull us out of the world and into Your arms, through your Son, Jesus. Thank You. We confess the days we rush past Your presence, and pray Your blessing as we refocus our vision on You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
