Day 118: Add a little more.

It makes no difference to me (or to God for that matter) if people have power or influence. ” Galations 2:8

Brilliance beholds us when we discover that instead of fighting with a curling iron and a image-118six-year old, we can simply buy extra hair that is already curled. So simple, and worth every penny invested. The amount of time and strife that little invention will save makes me laugh! Who knew that solace and peace could be found in fake hair that was already done? No one can even tell the difference.

Today’s verse reminds us that no one knows our hearts like the Father does, and we only need to worry about what He thinks. If we need to add a little fake hair here and there, it’s OK …but not necessary. He doesn’t care if it’s curled …He just cares about us.

“God doesn’t choose favorites among His children. ” Galations 2:8

Isn’t it comforting to know that conformity isn’t God’s thing? It can be exhausting trying to keep up with keeping up. Stop. He doesn’t care.

Even the so-called pillars of the church didn’t contribute anything new to my understanding of the good news. Galations 2:8

Jesus didn’t speak in scholarly terms when He was on earth, for the very reason above. What would it add? What good would it do to talk above those who needed to hear the Truth the most?

We stumble when we take ourselves too seriously. Enjoy life by letting go and living in His love. Jesus died so that we might have life! Not so that we would worry about what we look like living it. What voices are we listening to when we look in the mirror? Make sure the loudest is His. I assure you, even when we’re fat and lazy …broken out with acne …eyes swollen from tears shed, adding extra hair or sun burnt and blistered …He is telling us we are beautiful …chosen …worthy …and His.

jammed-click-to-tweetFather, Praise You for Your Word. Thank You for Your fair and just judgement. Forgive us for looking at each other in comparison, and bless us to see others as You do. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
