Hi! I'm Meg! It's great to meet you! Let's unlock the joy to found in everyday life, together!

Meet Meg

Blinky the Lighthouse.

Blinky the Lighthouse and Brianne

Where can you have breakfast with the Easter Bunny where the Easter Bunny, himself, is not the biggest hit at the party?  Oh, here.  Right here in this small little lake town.

Here, we pride ourselves on our  little lighthouse.  It’s not what you think of when you think, lighthouse, at all.  Especially, one that would have a character in it’s shape to represent it.  However, as everyone that lives here would surely agree, it’s a beautiful lighthouse.  It’s in a beautiful spot…on our beautiful lake…and it signifies  our beach town status, I believe.

Blinky, is the character that represents the Huron Lighthouse.  It’s a lighthouse…with eyes…a big smile…arms and feet.  Oh!  And a-topped with a blinking light.  How could I forget that part?

Every year, in our town, they have a breakfast with the Easter Bunny, and then an egg hunt at the Boat Basin for all the little peeps.  It’s so cool, really.  And, every year, my daughter gets more and more ‘eggs-cited’ (couldn’t help myself) for it because she’s older and understands that the bunny brings her stuff and there are toys and candy pieces in the eggs.

However…nothing tops Blinky the Lighthouse for her.  She loves him.  And her little sister followed right along with her this year.  For an hour and a half, the two of them and Brianne’s BFF gave Blinky and the Bunny no more than a foot of personal space…even trying to “hop” with the Bunny…who was obviously not planning on hopping as part of the festivities today.

“Booo-neee, Mommy!  EEEEEEErrrrr Boooneeee!” That’s cute, right?  Not as cute as my one year old trying to say Blinky the Lighthouse.  I can’t even think of a way to represent what that sounded like….you’ll just have to go with me on this one and assume it was a cute mess of half-put-together words.

After the breakfast we headed out to watch a magic show before the egg hunt started.  All fine…until the Easter Bunny and Blinky showed up.  Magician Shmagician.  Little Lo did not want anything to do with it.  She wanted that bunny…and Blinky.  Maybe is was the cold weather that left her interested in only picking up a handful of eggs during the hunt.  Or, maybe it was the fact that she couldn’t take her eyes off of Blinky long enough to focus on the festivities surrounding her.

That far past nap time, it doesn’t take much to light the fuse.  So, upon leaving…the meltdown ensued not only because it was 40 degrees outside and we were all freezing…but also because my one year old didn’t want to say goodbye to the Easter Bunny…and “Beeeeekkkkeeeyyyy wa wighthowwwwwww.”  There…that’s the best I can do.

I love this town.

Happy Egg Hunting!

Megs
